Assess
Assess what needs the most work in your home. Where are the cracks in the ceiling? Has the carpet had its day? What foundations are going to wear thin and cause problems in the near future? It might be worth calling an expert to assess your home and get a better insight on where to start, even if you decide to go down the DIY route later. |
Appropriate Clothing
Improving your home is messy work, so it's probably not the best idea to get out your favourite formal attire for this project. Remove all jewellery, tie you hair up and wear closed toe shoes that will protect your feet. Wear clothing that you don't mind getting dirty or stained. |

Book Some Time
Most projects are going to take more than a day to complete if done properly. Make a plan and set some time aside in your diary to complete your improvements. You may need to take time off work to complete some of the projects or arrange things to do while the experts are busy completing the renovations. Whether you're going down the expert or DIY route, it's important to plan your time effectively for your home improvements. |
