What is Home Improvement Month
National Home Improvement Month (NHIM) is the UK's highest profile home improvement Awareness Campaigns taking place again in 2020 and will be bigger than ever with the foal to inspire over 20 million homeowners and renters. In 2019 over 17 million adults across the UK were inspired to make a single change to their homes to help them love the home they live in. In 2020 this will be even bigger. NHIM is licensed exclusively to industry body BHETA by creators The Relations Group.
What Happened in 2019?
National Home Improvement Month was featured on Radio, in newspapers magazines, websites and social media to inspire over 17 million people to "Love The Home They Live In". Supported by DIY TV presenters Julia Kendell (from DIY SOS and 60 Minute Makeover) and Georgina Burnette (BBC and The Home Genie) the awareness campaign encouraged the UK to #MakeOneChange. Over 24 videos and 19 infographics were created. There were 50 items of radio coverage and 148 print and online articles with almost 200 items of coverage secured over the month with one key message: improve your home to home and start with just a single change.

What's New in 2020?
National Home Improvement Month will take place in April 2020 which will include the Easter weekend with Easter taking place on the 12th of April. There will be a celebrity ambassador agreed early to increase awareness of the event in the period leading up to the awareness campaign. There will be engagement with home improvement and DIY retailers to encourage industry wide support. There will be more engagement with bloggers and influencers to access the millennial audiences.
